Helping Kids Prepare for Emergencies
Kids who are ready are kids who can cope
Emergencies happen, and prepared children handle them best. Make sure your kids are ready to deal with potential emergencies by:
- Teaching them about natural hazards like earthquakes, avalanches, hurricanes, tornadoes, severe thunderstorms, ice storms, blizzards and lightening--and what to do when they occur
- Making a family emergency plan, and prepare an emergency kit together
- Teach your kids what to do in case of a fire
- Making sure your kids know what to do at school if an emergency happens
