Product description
This recall involves Armani Junior Garments that contain crystal ornaments. The affected garment models include:

Hazard identified
The crystal ornamentation on the recalled garments contains lead in excess of the allowable limit.
Under the Children's Jewellery Regulations of the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act, it is illegal to import, advertise or sell jewellery items that appeal primarily to children under 15 years of age and contain more than 600 mg/kg total lead.
Lead is very toxic to children, even at low exposure levels. Children can ingest lead when they chew, suck, or swallow jewellery items containing lead which can cause damage to their bodies. Potential health effects associated with exposure to high levels of lead include vomiting, diarrhea, convulsions, coma or even death.
Neither Health Canada nor Giorgio Armani Corp. has received any reports of incidents or illnesses related to the use of this product.

Approximately 984 units of the recalled garments were distributed in Canada.
Time period sold
The recalled products were sold from December 2011 to June 2012.
