Product description

This recall involves Manchester 100# Vertical DOT Propane Cylinders identifiable by the date codes 1-12 through 9-12 and the following model numbers:

  • 14281TC.1
  • 14281TC.11
  • 14281TC.17
  • 14281TC.25
  • 14281TC.23

The product is constructed of steel, the cylinder body height is 104.14 centimetres (41 inches) (not including collar and valve), and 38.3 centimetres (15.06 inches) in diameter and is equipped with a collar and a single vapour POL valve.

Hazard identified

A small percentage of cylinders produced between January 2012 through to September 2012 have been found to have very small leaks at the threaded connection between the cylinder and valve.

There have been no known incidents reported to Manchester Tanks to date.

Health Canada has not received any reports of incidents or injuries to Canadians related to the use of the recalled cylinders.

Number sold

Approximately 6,954 units of the recalled cylinders were sold in Canada.

Time period sold

The recalled cylinders were sold from February 2012 to September 2012.

Place of origin

Manufactured in the United States of America.
