Hazard identified

Under the Kettles Regulations of the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act, it is illegal to import, advertise or sell a kettle that releases more than 0.01 mg/kg of lead.
Lead is highly toxic and can enter the body through the digestive system or the lungs. It accumulates in the body and can damage almost all body systems, especially the nervous system. Lead is toxic to children even at low exposure levels and has also been shown to have the potential to cause intellectual and behavioural deficits in children. Potential health effects associated with exposure to high levels of lead include vomiting, diarrhea, convulsions, coma or even death.
