Product description

This recall involves the "Twenty One Collection" semi flush ceiling light with model number ISF253A03ORB.

Hazard identified

When the unit is being mounted, it is possible for the consumer to screw in the main mounting stud too far which can result in damage to the protective coating on internal wires, thereby causing a potential fire or shock hazard.

Canarm Ltd. received one report of a consumer being shocked when the stem of the mounting stud pinched the electrical wires. 

Health Canada has not received any reports of incidents or injuries to Canadians related to the use of this ceiling light.

Number sold

Approximately 4,225 units of the affected ceiling lights were sold at Home Hardware stores across Canada.

Time period sold

The affected ceiling lights were sold from January 2010 to December 2012.

What you should do

Consumers should immediately stop using the ceiling lights and tighten the hex lock nut provided (Image 2) to prevent the stem from contacting electrical wires, or call for a new replacement stem which does not require locking nut.
