Product description

RONA Inc. is issuing a voluntary recall on UBERHAUS 1000/2000W fan heaters with model number ECH106 and UPC 406812051092.

Hazard identified

The fan heater may be affected by a manufacturing defect and can overheat during use, posing a fire hazard.

Health Canada has not received any reports of incidents or injuries to Canadians related to the use of these heaters.

Number sold

In Canada, approximately 5,180 recalled products were sold in Réno-Dépôt stores in Quebec and in RONA stores, including RONA stores that were formerly under the TOTEM banner.

Time period sold

The recalled products were sold between January 2012 and March 2013.

Place of origin

Manufactured in China.

What you should do

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled fan heaters and return them to a RONA or Réno-Dépôt store. They can also contact customer service toll-free at 1-866-283-2239 for further information.
