Hazard identified
Health Canada's sampling and evaluation program revealed this product contains chrysotile, a form of asbestos. Exposure to asbestos and asbestos fibres presents a significant long term health risk to exposed individuals when present in ambient air in considerable concentration. A prolonged exposure to high concentrations of airborne asbestos fibres has been linked to such health problems as asbestosis (a scarring of the lungs), lung cancer, mesothelioma (a rare cancer of the lining of the chest or abdomen) and possibly gastrointestinal cancers.
Neither Health Canada nor Nature's Artifacts has received any reports of consumer incidents or injuries related to the use of this product.
