Ottawa, June 12, 2014 - Stawnichy's Meat Processing is recalling various beef jerky products from the marketplace because they contain wheat, mustard, soy and sulphites which are not declared on the label. People with an allergy to wheat, mustard, or soy or a sensitivity to sulphites should not consume the recalled products described below.
*These products have also been sold in bulk or have been repacked at retail. Consumers who are unsure if they have purchased the affected products are advised to contact their retailer.
What you should do
If you have an allergy to wheat, mustard or soy or a sensitivity to sulphites, do not consume the recalled products as they may cause a serious or life-threatening reaction.

Who is affected
There have been no reported allergic reactions associated with the consumption of these products.
Background
This recall was triggered by Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) inspection activities. The CFIA is conducting a food safety investigation, which may lead to the recall of other products. If other high-risk products are recalled the CFIA will notify the public through updated Food Recall Warnings.
The CFIA is verifying that industry is removing recalled products from the marketplace.
