Reason

The Natural Health Products Directorate (NHPD) has issued letters to all L-arginine product licence holders dated March 31, 2006, advising of new information published in the Journal of the American Medical Association of possible increased mortality in patients taking natural health products containing L-arginine, when sold as a single ingredient, following an acute myocardial infarction. NHPD no longer considers theses products safe for consumers with cardiovascular diseases and related disorders without a contraindication warning statements on the label. The recommended contraindication is to state, " Do not use if you have had a myocardial infarction (heart attack)".
