The children's toy is a set of multicoloured foam blocks that have magnetic strips on their sides. The recalled toy was advertised and sold as "Magnetic Blocks" (product No. 9259) and it was packaged and labelled as "Magic Shapes" (item No. 7187/9259).
This toy was advertised for "Ages 4 and up" and the package was labelled as "Not for children under 3 years".
The flexible magnetic strips that are glued to the foam blocks can detach, posing a choking hazard to young children.
Health Canada has received one complaint of the strips detaching, but is not aware of any incidents or injuries related to the use of the toy.
The exact number of the Magnetic Block sets that were sold in Canada is not known at this time.

The recalled toys were sold from February 2006 to May 2008.
