Product description

The Recharging Station comes with two rechargeable batteries, an AC adapter, and a recharging base. The recharging base is white with a green indicator light on the bottom. The Recharging Station for Didj was sold as item number 30676, which is printed on the box and on the bottom of the recharging base.

The AC adapter connected directly to the Didj handheld is not included in this recall and may continue to be used directly with the Didj.

Hazard identified

The rechargeable batteries included with the Recharging Station can overheat if the gaming system is placed into the recharging base upside down, posing a burn hazard to consumers.

The manufacturer, LeapFrog Enterprises Inc., has received 12 reports of the rechargeable batteries overheating, including one report of a minor hand burn.

Health Canada had not received any reports of incidents or injuries to Canadians related to the use of these products.

Number sold

Approximately 135 of the recalled products were sold in Canada at Wal-Mart, Toys "R" Us and Zellers stores as well as through the distributor, K.I.D. Toy Inc.

Time period sold

The recalled products were sold from July 2008 to October 2008.

Place of origin

Manufactured in China.

What you should do

Consumers should immediately stop using the recharging base and the two rechargeable batteries.
