Product description
This recall involves L.L.Bean Stabilicers Lite Ice Cleats with model number OBNX9. The cleats are worn over footwear to increase traction in winter walking conditions. The cleats affected by the recall were sold in the following colours: royal blue jelly, wild berry jelly and blaze orange jelly. Black cleats are not included in this recall.
Hazard identified
The elastic harness system attaching the cleats to the footwear can detach, posing a fall hazard to consumers.
L.L.Bean has received reports of several broken products with no injuries.
Health Canada has not received any reports of injuries or incidents related to the use of these products.
Number sold
Approximately 308 pairs of ice cleats were sold to Canadians at L.L.Bean stores in the United States, via the internet at LLBean.com, and in the L.L.Bean catalogue.
Time period sold
The recalled products were sold from January 2008 to December 2008.
