Product description
This recall involves Spencer Gifts necklaces with a skull-and-crossbones pendant and a metal clasp. The pendant has eleven rhinestones on the forehead of the skull and one rhinestone each on both ends of the crossbones.
Hazard identified
The skull and metal clasp of the necklace contain high levels of lead. Lead can be toxic if ingested by young children and can cause adverse health effects.
Health Canada has not received any reports of illness or incidents related to the use of this recalled product.

Number sold
Approximately 134 necklaces were sold at Spencer Gifts stores across Canada.
Time period sold
The recalled products were sold from November 2006 to December 2008.

What you should do
Consumers should immediately take the necklaces away from their children and return the product to Spencer Gifts for an exchange or refund.
The skull and metal clasp on an earlier version of the necklace were modified to eliminate the lead hazard in the new version of the necklaces.
