Product description

This recall involves electric R/C helicopters sold under the name "Three Channels R/C Helicopter" and having the following model numbers: ZS-016-C1 (yellow helicopters) and ZS-016-C2 (white helicopters). The recalled helicopter is labelled for ages 14 and up and is operated on FM frequency.

Hazard identified

The rechargeable lithium-ion battery inside the helicopter can ignite while charging, posing a fire hazard.

Both SkyLead and Health Canada have received one report of the battery exploding, with no reported injuries.

Number sold

Approximately 34 of the recalled helicopters were sold in Canada.

Time period sold

The recalled helicopters were sold from December 2008 to March 2009.

Place of origin

Manufactured in China.
