Protouchh Hair Straightening Iron
Product description
This recall involves Protouchh Pro-Choice 1 hair straightening irons with model number HS040. The iron is an electrical hand-held hair straightening device, and is long and narrow, and black with red accents. The model number can be found on a label on the product.
Hazard identified
The recalled straightening irons bear a counterfeit Intertek-ETL Trade Mark, and have not been evaluated for safety by a recognized certification agency. In addition, the product has an improper power cord that is marked as SPT-1 and not the required SPT-2 type.
Health Canada has not received any reports of incidents or injuries related to the use of this product.
Number sold
Approximately 200 units of the recalled products were sold to distributors, hair salons, and the general public across Canada.
Time period sold
The recalled products were distributed from 2008 to March 2009.
Place of origin
Manufactured in China.
