Product description
This recall involves a coin purse, children's earrings, and children's necklaces by Daiso. The tag and packaging for both products have "Produced for Daiso Japan" on either the front or back.
The coin purse has rainbow stripes. "The Coin Purse" and "Mobile Case Coin Purse" are printed on the tag attached to the purse. The tag also has item number D666 and UPC 4984343765498 on it.
The earrings and necklaces are gold-coloured and have blue, pink, red, white, and yellow-coloured droplets attached. "Colourful Drop Accessory Bracelet" is printed on the front of the necklace package, while "Colourful Drop Accessory Piece" is printed on the front of the earring package. The jewellery can be identified by item number D444 and UPC 4984343723566.
Hazard identified
The surface paint on the zippers of the coin purses and the clasps on the jewellery contain high levels of lead. Lead is toxic if ingested by young children and can cause adverse health effects.
Neither Health Canada nor Daiso Canada Ltd. has received reports of incidents or illnesses related to the use of these products.

Number sold
Approximately 16 of the recalled children's coin purses and approximately 280 of the recalled children's earrings/necklaces were sold at Daiso and Yokoyaya stores in British Columbia, in Richmond and Vancouver.
Time period sold
The recalled children's coin purses were sold from March 2009 to October 2009, and the children's earrings/necklaces were sold from August 2008 to July 2010.
Place of origin
Manufactured in China and Korea.
