Product description

This recall involves Zooper Tango Double Strollers with model numbers SL808B and SL808F and production dates ranging from January 1, 2007 through April 30, 2008. The model numbers were printed on the original packaging. The production dates are printed on the warning labels attached to the seats. Zooper strollers with a chrome frame latch are not affected by this recall.

Hazard identified

The stroller's black frame latch above the front wheels can fail when the stroller hits an object, causing the stroller to unexpectedly collapse. This can result in minor scrapes, cuts and bruises.

The distributor in the United States, Lan Enterprises, has received 185 reports of frame latch failures. In one incident, a 13-month-old boy and a 3-year-old boy received scrapes and bruises when their stroller hit a sidewalk and the stroller collapsed.

Health Canada has received one report of a child sustaining cuts to her knees after the frame latch collapsed and caused her to fall onto pavement.

Approximately 800 units of the recalled strollers were sold at children's product specialty stores across Canada.

Time period sold

The recalled strollers were sold from January 2007 to January 2009.
