Product description
This recall involves the Connecting Rings toy set. The recalled toy is sold in packs of 12 or 18 identically-shaped pieces of various colours. Each piece has six connecting points with finger-like shapes, designed to attach the pieces together as a connecting toy and allowing multiple connection combinations and shapes.
- Connecting Rings with 18 pieces come in a plastic tube with item #T1663 and UPC 064049016637 written on the label.
- Connecting Rings with 12 pieces come in a paper box with a clear window. The packaging has item #T1591 and UPC 064049015913 written on it.
Hazard identified
The plastic connecting points on the individual plastic rings can easily break, forming small parts; these small parts pose a choking hazard to young children.
Health Canada has not received any reports of incidents or injuries related to the use of these toys.

Number sold
Approximately 5,760 of the 12 piece connecting rings sets and 4,932 of the 18 piece connecting ring sets were sold at special and discount stores across Canada.
Time period sold
The recalled products were sold from November 2008 to August 2009.
