Lysol Steam Cleaning Mop
Product description
This recall involves the Lysol Steam Cleaning Mop by Conair Corporation with model number SM-10LC. The model number is printed on the bottom of the mop, under the microfiber cloth.
Hazard identified
Hot water, when mixed with Lysol, can forcefully spurt out and rupture the housing unit, posing a burn and laceration hazard to consumers from the broken housing unit.
In Canada, Conair Corporation has received one report of an incident. In the United States, Conair Corporation has received 14 reports of hot water forcefully spilling out of the water reservoir compartment, including two minor burn injuries to consumers who sought medical attention.
Health Canada has not received any reports of incidents or injuries related to the use of these mops.
Number sold
Approximately 8,700 of the recalled products were sold at Sears Canada, Home Hardware and other retailers across Canada.
Time period sold
The recalled products were sold from March 2007 to October 2009.
Place of origin
