Glazed Ceramic Butterfly Tea Set by Schylling
Product description
This recall involves Butterfly Tea Sets by Schylling. These are children's tea sets made of glazed ceramic and include plates, tea cups, a tea pot, and a creamer. There is a pink butterfly pattern on each item.
The recalled tea sets can be identified by date code "8207", which can be found on the product packaging (box), above the bar code/UPC. No other date codes are included in this recall.
If the date code cannot be located and the item was purchased after January 1, 2009, then please refer to the markings on the bottom of each piece as indicated in the picture below to determine if your tea set is included in this recall.
Items that have an image of a crown above a large letter "S" and the words "Schylling" and "Made in China", are not included in this recall.
Hazard identified
Health Canada's sampling and evaluation program has revealed that the glaze on the recalled butterfly tea set contains cadmium in excess of the allowable limits.
Neither Schylling Associates, Inc. nor Health Canada has received reports of illnesses related to the use of these products.

Number sold
Approximately 270 of the recalled products were sold at various retail stores in British Columbia, Ontario, Nova Scotia, and Alberta.
Time period sold
The recalled products were sold from January 2009 to March 2009.
