Glass Water Bottle by Starbucks

Product description

This recall involves the Glass Water Bottle sold by Starbucks with the following SKU number: 11003503. The SKU number can be located on the bottom of the bottle.

Hazard identified

The glass stopper or water bottle can shatter when removing or inserting the stopper, posing a laceration hazard to consumers.

Starbucks has received 10 reports of either the glass stoppers or water bottles shattering, including eight reports of hand lacerations.

Health Canada has not received any reports of incidents or injuries associated with the use of this product.

Number sold

Approximately 1,200 of the recalled water bottles were sold in Canada and approximately 11,000 were sold in the United States, at Starbucks stores.

Time period sold

The recalled products were sold from January 11, 2010 through January 25, 2010.

Place of origin

Manufactured in Taiwan.

What you should do

Consumers should immediately stop using the glass water bottles and return them to any company-operated Starbucks location to receive a full refund ($8.95 USD or $9.95 CAN). Starbucks is also offering a complimentary beverage, of any size, to customers upon the return of their purchase.
