Product description
This recall involves all Ventus Ltd, Ventus Ltd 17, Ventus Ltd Gold, Ventus Ltd Track, Ventus Team, and Ventus Team 17 bicycle aerobars (handlebars). The Ventus Ltd models are black with a silver stripe, and the Ventus Team models are black with a red stripe. "Ventus" and "3T" logos are on the top side of the bar, along with the model name.
Hazard identified
The rubber hand grips on the aerobars can loosen or slip off during use, posing a risk of falling or other injuries to the rider.
3T has received 2 reports of incidents involving adults with minor abrasions.
Neither Vittoria Industries North America/BikeMine nor Health Canada has received any reports of injuries or incidents in Canada.
Number sold
Approximately 10 of the recalled handlebars were sold at independent bicycle retailers and by internet retailers in Canada.
Time period sold
The recalled products were sold from January 2008 to November 2009.
Place of origin
Manufactured in Taiwan.
