Hazard identified
Health Canada has determined that the recalled polo pyjama and lounge pants do not meet the design and flammability requirements for children's sleepwear under Canadian law.
Loose-fitting children's sleepwear can contact ignition sources such as stove elements, candles, and matches more readily than tight-fitting sleepwear. When loose-fitting sleepwear is made with natural fibres such as cotton, they can burn rapidly, potentially resulting in severe burns to large areas of the child's body.
Neither Health Canada nor Outerstuff ULC has received reports of incidents or injuries related to the use of the sleepwear.
For more information, visit Health Canada's Children's Sleepwear fact sheet.
