"Carpet Art Deco" brand rug of the Shag Rug Nebraska collection
This recall involves area rugs of the Shag Rug Nebraska collection sold under the brand name "Carpet Art Deco" by Rona Inc. The rug measures 160 centimetres by 225 centimetres, and can be identified by the SKU number 69566096 and the UPC 805497078927.
Health Canada's sampling and evaluation program has identified that the rugs do not meet the requirements for textile flammability under Canadian law.
The rugs could easily catch fire if exposed to a flame or other ignition source such as a lighter, match, candle, stove element or spark from a fireplace, posing a burn risk and fire hazard to consumers.
Health Canada has not received any reports of incidents or injuries related to the use of these rugs.
Approximately 242 of the recalled rugs were sold exclusively in Rona stores in Canada.
Time period sold
The recalled rugs were sold from October 2010 to April 2011.
Place of origin
Manufactured in China.
