Affected products

Bugaboo Bee Stroller

Product description

This recall involves the "Bugaboo Bee" stroller for newborns and toddlers. The stroller is suitable to accommodate a child from infant to toddler up to 17 kg (37.5 lbs.)

The affected strollers were manufactured from January 2011 to September 2011 and carry serial numbers ranging from 160101110100051 to 160101113801999.

Hazard identified

The front swivel wheels may suddenly lock up while the stroller is in motion causing the stroller to topple. This can result in a fall-related injury to the stroller occupant.

Health Canada has not received any reports of incidents or injuries to Canadians related to the use of this product.

In the United States, four incidents have been reported where the stroller's swivel wheels locked and the stroller tipped over. In all of these incidents, the occupant toddler suffered minor injuries.

Number sold

Approximately 257 units of the affected strollers were sold to Canadian consumers.

In the United States, approximately 7,000 units of the recalled strollers were sold.

Time period sold

The affected strollers were sold from February 2011 to September 2011.

Consumers should immediately stop using the affected strollers and contact the place of purchase for a swivel wheel replacement or contact Bugaboo directly for a swivel wheel replacement.
