Product description
This recall involves two models of 1500 watt Climate Keeper ceramic heaters. Both models have a fan, two dials on top, a wire mesh panel in front and the name "Climate Keeper" and a label on the bottom with the model number and ETL 3130679.
Model #FH107A has grey plastic housing, while model #PTC-902T is an oscillating heater with silver-grey plastic housing, a molded handle on top of the heater and a small extra button between the two dials which controls the oscillation.
Hazard identified
The heaters can overheat and melt, posing a fire or electric shock hazard.
The affected heaters have been recalled in the United States and are certified to Canadian Standards by Intertek and labeled with a Canadian certification mark, which means they can potentially be available in Canada as well.
Big Lots in the United States has received four reports of the products overheating and melting. There are no reports of injury, fire or property damage.
Health Canada has not received any reports of incidents or injuries to Canadians related to the use of these heaters.
Number sold
There were no affected heaters distributed in Canada by the company. However, as the heaters are approved for sale in Canada, there may be some present in the Canadian market through other channels.
Time period sold
The affected heaters were sold only in the United States from September 2010 through March 2012.

What you should do
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled products immediately and return them to a Big Lots store for a full refund.
