Product description

This recall involves Youth Texas orange t-shirt with "John Deere" Logo. The following sizes with their respective barcodes are included in this recall:

Hazard identified

Testing has confirmed that the screen print of the John Deere Logo contains lead in excess of allowable limit. Lead is known to be toxic if ingested by young children.

Children can ingest lead when they chew, suck, or swallow items containing this metal. A range of serious health effects have been associated with exposure to lead, including anemia, vomiting, diarrhea, serious brain injury, convulsions, coma, as well as effects related to the liver, kidneys, heart and immune system. In extreme cases, there have been deaths.

Neither Health Canada nor The Michael Walker Advertising Company Limited has received any reports of incidents or illnesses related to the use of this product.

Number sold

Approximately 121 units of the recalled t-shirts were sold at various John Deere dealers and at the John Deere head office in Canada.

Time period sold

The recalled t-shirts were sold from May 2010 to April 2012.

Place of origin

Made in Mexico and printed in Canada.
