Product description
This recall involves "Alterego" Leopard costume sold in both girls' and women's sizes. The costume includes a dress with fingerless gloves and a hairband with ears. The dress and fingerless gloves have black marabou (feather) trim. The UPC for each size is as follows:
- Girl's Size 4-6 UPC: 4897021634118
- Girl's Size 8-10 UPC: 4897021634095
- Girl's Size 12-14 UPC: 4897021634101
- Women's Size Small UPC: 4897021637508
- Women's Size Medium UPC: 4897021633678
- Women's Size Large UPC: 4897021637515.
Hazard identified
Health Canada's sampling and testing program revealed that the marabou trim on the costumes do not meet the requirements for textile flammability under Canadian law.
These costumes could easily catch on fire and cause serious burns to consumers if exposed to a flame or other heat source such as candles, matches or lighters.
Health Canada has not received any reports of incident or injuries to Canadians related to the use of these costumes.

Approximately 1,955 of the recalled "Alterego Leopard" Halloween Costumes were sold at Value Village stores across Canada.
Time period sold
The recalled "Alterego Leopard" Halloween Costumes were sold from August 29, 2011 to November 5, 2011.
