Product description

This recall involves the 15 centimetre (6-inch) All-Pro trim ring assembly with glass lens. This trim is intended for use only in indoor and typically residential shower applications and can be mounted from heights, on average of 2.4 metres to 2.7 metres (8 to 9 feet).

The model numbers of the trims affected by this recall are as follows: ERT-701, ERT-702 and ERT-703.

This trim ring is listed for use in the following lighting fixtures: ET700, ET700R, ET2700, EI700U, EI700UAT and can also fit in H7T, H7RT, H7UIC, H27T, H27TCP, H27RT, H7TCP, H270ICAT, H271ICAT, H274E, H276E, H280E, H280EL, H280EEM, H283, H283EL, H280EICAT, H280ELICAT, H285E, H285EL, H285EEM, H285EEML, H287E, H287EL, H285EICAT, H285ELICAT, H7ICT, H7ICAT, H27ICAT.

The trim has a label with a date code on the underside of the trim in the following format: IC5003 XXX XX XXXXX, and a second label with the words "All-Pro ERT70X", where X is 1, 2 or 3. After the IC5003 coding, the date code will appear in the following five digits, with the first three digits indicating the day of the year in which the trim was manufactured and the next two digits indicating the year.

The date codes affected by this recall are between "347 11" (the 347th day of 2011 or December 13, 2011) and "119 12" (the 119th day of the year 2012 or April 28, 2012) inclusively.

Hazard identified

The shower trim can fall out of its fixture to the ground, which could result in an injury to consumers.

Cooper Lighting has received 407 reports of reflectors falling or of the tabs that hold the trim in place breaking prior to installation. One laceration injury has been reported to the company.

Health Canada is not aware of any reports of incidents or injuries to Canadians related to the use of these shower trims.

Number sold

Approximately 206 units of the recalled shower trims were distributed by authorized distributors across Canada.

Time period sold

The recalled shower trims were sold from January 2012 to July 2012.
