Product description

This recall involves the Chicco Polly single phase, Chicco Polly double phase and Chicco Polly 2-1 high chairs made by Artsana. These high chairs have a folding frame for storage, a three position reclining seat and pegs on the back legs for tray storage.

The model number and data code can be found on a label which is on the rear leg of the high chair. The date code is in the format YYYY-MM-DD. The following model numbers are included in this recall if the model/serial label on the chair indicates it was manufactured before November 2010:

Hazard identified

Children can fall on or against the pegs on the back legs of the high chair if the tray is not being stored on those pegs, posing a bruising or a laceration hazard.

Artsana Group and the US CPSC have received 21 reports of incidents, including four reports of children requiring stitches and one report of a scratched cornea. None of these occurred in Canada.

Health Canada has not received any reports of incidents or injuries related to the use of these high chairs.

Number sold

Approximately 30,690 of the recalled high chairs were sold in Canada.

Approximately 455,000 of the recalled high chairs were sold in the United States.

Time period sold

The recalled products were sold from August 2005 to January 2012 in Canada and from January 2005 to July 2012 in the United States.

Place of origin

Manufactured in China.
