Health Canada's sampling and evaluation program has revealed that the recalled kits contain hazardous chemicals and have been sold in Canada without the required safety warning statements and labels. These labels direct the user to important safety information regarding use of the chemicals provided with the product. In addition, it has been identified that the Lava-Blasting Volcano Kit contains a substance in a quantity which exceeds that allowed under the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act and its Regulations. Inclusion of prohibited quantities of substances and a lack of required labelling can both lead to serious adverse health effects.
