Confer Plastics Curve In-pool Step Systems for aboveground and in-ground pools

Product description

This voluntary recall involves three models of in-pool step systems with curved steps for aboveground and in-ground pools. The steps and handrails are made of gray and beige plastic. The manufacturing code and date code are located on the side walls of each step.

Hazard identified

Children’s limbs can be entrapped in the side openings, posing a drowning hazard.

As of August 3 2018, the company has received no reports of limb entrapment or injuries in Canada. In the United States, the company has received 2 reports of limb entrapment, and 1 report of minor injury.

Number sold

Approximately 2,100 units of the affected products were sold in Canada and approximately 100,000 units were sold in the United States.

Time period sold

The recalled products were sold at wholesalers, distributors and retail stores in Canada and the United States from January 2013 to July 2018.

Place of origin

Manufactured in the United States.

What you should do

Consumers should immediately stop using the step systems and contact Confer Plastics for a free repair kit.
