Product description

This recall involves the Betty Crocker Single Serve Pod Coffee Maker that can be identified by model number BC3800CB and UPC 6 23287 13800 8.

Only products with date code 0718 are affected by this recall.

The model number and date code can be found on the sticker located on the bottom of the coffee maker.

Hazard identified

The affected product can overheat during use, posing a burn hazard.

As of December 5, 2018, the company has received two reports of the affected product overheating in Canada, one of which resulted in the base of the product melting and causing property damage. No injuries have been reported.

Number sold

Approximately 2,088 units of the affected products were sold at Giant Tiger retail stores in Canada.

Time period sold

The affected products were sold from June 2018 to October 2018.

What you should do

Consumers should immediately stop using the product and return it to a Giant Tiger retail store for an exchange or refund.
