Product description

This recall involves the girls' two-piece ''Puppy Love'' pyjama sets and "Hello Weekend" nightgowns imported and sold in Canada by Vêtements Orchestra Canada Inc.

The girls' two-piece pyjama set is made up of grey shorts and an orange short-sleeve t-shirt  with dogs on it. The words "Puppy Love" appear on the front of the shirt. The pyjama set is sold is sizes 2 to 10 and model number MF4102 appears on the clothing tag.

The words "Hello Weekend" appear on the nightgown, which has white and dark blue stripes, pink straps and pink and silver sequin stars. The nightgown is sold is sizes 2 to 10 and model number OF4604 appears on the clothing tag.

Hazard identified

Health Canada has established that the recalled products do not meet the flammability requirements for children's sleepwear under Canadian law.

Loose-fitting children's sleepwear can contact ignition sources such as stove elements, candles, matches or another source of flame. If they ignite, they burn rapidly resulting in severe burns to large areas of the child's body.

As of March 4 2019, no incident or injury had been reported to the company in Canada.

Number sold

Approximately 32 units of the affected products were sold in Canada.

Time period sold

The recalled two-piece pyjama sets were sold between April 2017 and February 2019. The recalled nightgowns were sold between April 2018 and February 2019.

Place of origin

Made in Madagascar (nightgowns) and in India (two-piece pyjama sets)

What you should do

Consumers should immediately stop allowing children to wear the recalled sleepwear and return them to the store for a refund.

For more information, consumers may go to the store or contact Vêtements Orchestra Canada Inc. at 514-842-5225, from Monday to Friday, between 10:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m., on Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Sundays from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (EST).

Please note that the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act prohibits recalled products from being redistributed, sold or even given away in Canada.
