Affected products

Bodum Bistro two-slice and four-slice toasters in stainless steel

Product description

This recall involves two models of the Bodum Bistro toaster in stainless steel:

(1) a two-slice model with SKU 10709-16-4

(2) a four-slice model with SKU 11840-16.

The SKU number appears on the bottom of the toaster. The word "Bodum" is embossed on the side of the products.

Hazard identified

The recalled toasters can leak electric current when operating at the maximum normal temperature, posing a shock hazard to consumers

As of July 09, 2019, the company has received 8 reports of electrical shock with no reports of injuries in Canada and no reports of shock or injury in the United States.

Number sold

Approximately 1480 units of the affected product were sold in Canada and approximately 2400 were sold in the United States.

Time period sold

The affected products were sold from January 2018 to June 2019.

What you should do

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled toaster and return it to the place of purchase for a full refund or contact Bodum to receive a prepaid mailer to return the toaster for a full refund
