Product description

This recall involves the children's hooded sweaters with hood/neck and waist drawstrings and toggles. The brand of the product is Kid's Ark with styles K-511 and K-585. The multi-coloured sweaters are 100% wool with attached hood, side entry pockets, and are fleece-lined.  The sweaters were available in sizes S/M, M/L, and L/XL and may include images of white polar bears or black moose.

Hazard identified

Drawstrings on children's upper outerwear can become caught on playground equipment, fences, or other objects and result in strangulation, or in the case of a vehicle, the child being dragged.

As of December 10, 2019 the company has received no reports of incidents or injuries in Canada.

Number sold

Approximately 116 units of the affected product were sold in Canada.

Time period sold

The affected products were sold from August 2019 to December 2019.

What you should do

Consumers should immediately remove the drawstrings from the children's sweaters to eliminate the hazard.
