Product description

The EU2200i generator has a black front cover and black metal frame. The words "HONDA" in white lettering and model number "EU2200i" in red lettering with a white outline are printed on the front of the generator (black control panel).

The EB2200i generator has a black front cover and black metal frame. The words "HONDA" in white lettering and model number "EB2200i" in white lettering with a red outline are printed on the front of the generator (black control panel).

The following serial numbers and date code ranges are being recalled:

Hazard identified

If exposed to salt water, salt water may enter the area of the AC output connector inside the generator, posing a fire hazard.

As of January 31, 2020, Honda Canada has received no reports of incidents or injuries in Canada.

Number sold

Approximately 24,508 units of the affected product were sold in Canada.

Time period sold

The affected products were sold from October 2017 to November 2019.

What you should do

Honda will be contacting all known purchasers directly and advise them to bring the generator to an authorized Honda dealer for repair.
