Product description

This recall involves Peloton Tread treadmills with model TR02.The recalled Tread has a running space of 59 inches, a 23.8-inch high definition (HD) touchscreen console and a non-slatted running belt. The model number TR02 is printed on a black sticker located on the end cap in the front of the treadmill deck. The treadmills have a touchscreen and are black with the Peloton logo on the monitor and the side rails.

PLEASE NOTE: This product is different from the Peloton Tread+, which is not part of this recall and not sold in Canada.

Hazard identified

The screws attaching the touchscreen console to the treadmill can come loose, causing it to detach and fall, posing a risk of injury to consumers.

As of August 30, 2021, the company has received 118 incident reports in Canada, which includes 6 reports of minor injuries. In the United States, the company has received 17 reports of the touchscreen loosening, 12 reports of touchscreen detachments, and 1 report of minor injuries.

Number sold

The company reported that 5513 units of the affected product were sold in Canada and 1056 units were sold in the United States.

Time period sold

The affected products were sold in Canada from February 2021 to May 2021.

What you should do

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled treadmills and contact Peloton to either schedule a repair or request a full refund. Peloton will continue to offer full refunds until November 6, 2022.

Peloton is offering consumers who do not want a refund the option of a free inspection and repair that will secure the touchscreen to the treadmill to help prevent future incidents. As of August 16, 2021 the repair option is available to Canadians. Please refer to the contact information below to schedule your repair or inquire further.
