Product description

In Canada, this recall involves the Fisher-Price 4-in-1 Rock 'n Glide Soothers with model numbers CBT81, CHP55, and CHP56 and the Fisher-Price 2-in-1 Soothe 'n Play Gliders with model numbers, GDD28, GDD39, GDD41, GGW85, GNX43, GVG43, and HBT17.

The products have two use modes: a powered glider seat and an infant rocker. In both modes, the product can move in a head-to-toe or side-to-side motion.

The Fisher-Price 4-in-1 Rock 'n Glide Soother is a powered glider seat with a back and forth motion and an infant rocker. The product can rock or glide head-to-toe or side-to-side and features optional battery-powered calming vibrations and soothing music and nature sounds. The product can convert from a powered glider to a rocker by unlocking and lifting the rocker seat from the glider base.

The Fisher-Price 2-in-1 Soothe 'n Play Glider is a dual motion soothing seat with a removable rocker. It can sway head-to-toe or side-to-side at six different speeds and offers a range of soothing songs and nature sounds.

The model number is located on the underside of the base.

Hazard identified

Infants who are placed unrestrained in the products and later found on their stomach are at risk of suffocation.

As of May 26, 2021, the company has received no reports of suffocation incidents for either product in Canada. In the United States, the company has received 4 reports of infant fatalities in the 4-in-1 Rock 'n Glide Soothers. The infants were reportedly placed on their backs unrestrained in the product and later found on their stomachs. No reports of suffocation incidents have been reported for the 2-in-1 Soothe'n Play Glider.

Number sold

The company reported that 25,392 units of the Fisher-Price 4-in-1 Rock 'n Glide Soother and 27,383 units of the Fisher-Price 2-in-1 Soothe 'n Play Glider were sold in Canada.

Approximately 120,000 units of the Fisher-Price 4-in-1 Rock 'n Glide Soother and approximately 55,000 units of the Fisher Price 2-in-1 Soothe 'n Play Glider were sold in the United States.

Time period sold

In Canada, the Fisher-Price 4-in-1 Rock 'n Glide Soothers were sold from February 2015 to February 2020. The Fisher-Price 2-in-1 Soothe 'n Play Gliders were sold from February 2019 to May 2021.
