Advisory details

Ottawa, July 4, 2011 - The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) and Sun Sweet Catering are warning people with allergies to milk not to consume The Greek Chef Garlic Spreads described below. The affected products contain milk which is not declared on the label.

The following Garlic Spreads made by Sun Sweet Catering are affected by this alert:

Product Sizes
The Greek Chef Garlic Spread 12 oz & 32 oz
The Greek Chef Hot & Spicy Garlic Spread 12 oz & 32 oz

These products have been distributed in Ontario.

There have been no reported allergic reactions associated with the consumption of these products.

Consumption of these products may cause a serious or life-threatening reaction in persons with allergies to milk.

The manufacturer, Sun Sweet Catering, London, ON is voluntarily recalling the affected products from the marketplace. The CFIA is monitoring the effectiveness of the recall.
